He began his television career at WCNC-TV in Charlotte, NC in 1999 as an assignment editor, then planning editor and eventually producer.
In 2005, Shepperd joined Hearst Television at WDSU-TV in New Orleans as a producer. In the months following Hurricane Katrina, he launched a 30-minute consumer and investigative-focused show that aired weeknights to address the community’s needs following the storm. Shepperd was promoted to executive producer and then as assistant news director.
In 2010, he joined KCRA-TV in Sacramento as managing editor.
Shepperd became news director at KHBS/KHOG-TV in Northwest Arkansas in 2012, and then news director at KOAT-TV in Albuquerque, NM in 2015.
Shepperd is a graduate of UNC Charlotte with a bachelor of science in communication studies.
